Kingswood Residential

We arrived at Kingswood this afternoon and were taken on a site tour. We were then immediately faced with our first challenge - making our own beds. Our teachers were very proud of how we all helped each other to complete this task.

Shortly after, our groups were taken to our first activity, Zip Line and Jacob's Ladder. This involved us wearing a harness for the first time. We challenged ourselves to complete the activity and motivating others to do the same. We are very proud of our achievements.

Then it was time for lunch - fish and chips or cheese and leek pie awaited us. We had built up quite the appetite by then!

Later this evening we took part in our first whole-group evening task. Our challenge was to use scrap material to protect a water balloon when it was kicked, dropped and thrown. If it survived these three challenges we could choose to pop the water balloon over an adult's head!

After our delicious hot chocolate, it was time to get ready for bed and get plenty of rest ready for our first full day of activities tomorrow.

After a full night's sleep, our teachers woke us up ready for a fun filled day.

A full breakfast awaited us: a full English breakfast (both traditional and vegetarian options), cereals and fruit. We piled our plates high to ensure we had enough energy for the day ahead.

We then started the morning activities for our different groups: Jacob's Ladder, Nightline, Fencing and Orienteering. We were able to support each other with fastening harnesses and encouraged each other to complete the activities.

Lunchtime consisted of hot-dogs, lamb pasty, cheese and onion pie and wedges. All accompanied by all you can eat salad and fruit.

Our afternoon activities then began: team games and dodgeball. Our teachers were very proud of how well we were able to use our team work and communication skills during these activities.

Our final meal of the day consisted of a range of pasta dishes. Tomato pasta bake, chicken pasta bake and meatball pasta bake. Again accompanied by the usual delicious salad and fruit. We were also lucky enough to have doughnuts for pudding!

Our final session of the day was mini-olympics. We competed against our friends in a range of activities - all while having a dance to the upbeat party music.

We are now settling down for the night, ready for another fun-filled, busy day tomorrow.

We hope you are enjoying looking at our pictures.

After a full day of activities yesterday, we all slept very well. Our teachers woke us up at 7am, ready for a very exciting ahead.

We all headed for breakfast, where a variety of traditional and vegetarian cooked breakfast items, cereals and fruit awaited us. We made sure we ate plenty in order to ensure we had plenty of energy for our upcoming activities.

We then split into our groups and headed to our morning activities: orienteering, nightline, zipline, shelter building, obstacle challenge and jungle vines. We really enjoyed our activities and pushed ourselves to face new challenges.

Lunch was delicious. We all enjoyed a choice of popcorn chicken, beef stroganoff, vegetarian escalope and rice. We also had an endless supply of fruit and salad.

After lunch, we challenged ourselves to answer riddles and complete problem-solving tasks. We then split into our groups and completed our afternoon activities: obstacle challenge, leap of faith, archery and fire lighting.

Before our evening activity, we had a well-deserved dinner, which consisted of cottage pie, sausage and mash and vegetable pie - all served with lots of vegetables. We also piled our plates high of salad and fruit.

Finally, we all took part in our evening activity. We all sat around a warm and cosy campfire, where we sang songs, told stories and challenged each other to riddles. This was all topped off with hot chocolate, marshmallows and biscuits before heading to bed.

We are now getting a well-earned rest in preparation for a final full day tomorrow.

We hope you enjoy looking at today’s photos.

Our teachers woke us up at 7am this morning; some of us found it very hard to get out of bed after such a full day yesterday. We all slept so well!

We couldn’t wait for our breakfast and piled our plates high with the usual choice of traditional or vegetarian cooked items, cereals and fruit. It was delicious and provided us with the energy we needed for the day ahead.

We then split into our groups and headed to our morning activities: buggy build, team tech, leap of faith, jungle vines, archery and fire lighting. We are enjoying the activities so much and learning so many new skills.

A deli-style lunch allowed us to choose from a variety of breads, meats and cheese to build a sandwich of our choice. This was accompanied by crisps, biscuits, salad and fruit.

We then headed to the shop. There was so much to choose from. We thought hard about what we wanted to spend our money on before making our purchases.  We stored our purchases safely before commencing our afternoon activities.

We again split into our groups and headed to our sessions: team tech, jungle vines, buggy build and caving. We are getting really good at communication and team work now and applied all of our skills into each session.

Our final evening meal awaited us: a choice of fishcakes, southern-fried chicken or vegetarian escalope or sausage roll, with a selection of wedges, vegetables, salad and fruit.

After dinner, we headed to our dormitories to get ready for the disco. We had so much fun, with plenty of dancing to be seen – even from our teachers!

We are looking forward to our morning of activities tomorrow, but also for coming home and telling you all about it.

We hope you enjoy looking at today's pictures.
