Kingswood Residential

Monday 25th September 2023

Hello everyone from our first day at Kingswood.

After a short coach journey, we arrived at the centre. We've had a great time exploring the grounds and settling into our spacious dormitories.

The first challenge of our visit was making our beds! There was lots of teamwork to help each other with this mission.

So far this afternoon, we’ve had the chance to take part in orienteering, aeroball and laser tag.

This evening, we’ve had a delicious dinner of fish cakes, southern fried chicken or vegan burgers - which we all thoroughly enjoyed! We’ve just taken part in a scrap heap challenge, where we were set a mission to protect a water balloon, before dropping it on one of our adults' heads!

We can’t wait to tell you all about the fun we have tomorrow, with many more photos to come too!

Hello from another day at Kingswood,

Our teachers were so impressed with us when we woke up this morning - we all managed to have a great first night’s sleep!

We started the day with a tasty cooked breakfast, before beginning our first activities. Even though it was a little bit rainy, we had a great time zooming down the zip wire and exploring the caves below Kingswood.

This afternoon, we spent time problem-solving and working as part of a team to discover who could build the highest tower on crate stack. We really impressed our teachers and instructors with how resilient we all were.

After our delicious evening meal, where we had the choice of chilli, vegan chill or a chicken casserole followed by ice-cream, we bundled up in our warmest clothes. We’ve spent the evening around the campfire, roasting marshmallows, drinking hot chocolate, whilst telling riddles, stories and jokes.

We hope you’re enjoying seeing all of our photographs. We look forward to telling you all about our day tomorrow.

Wednesday 27th September 2023

Hello again from all of us at Kingswood.

We’ve had another fun-filled day here, with lots of activities to keep us entertained and busy. Our morning started with another delicious breakfast, before our first activities began. We faced our fears by scaling a 20-metre climbing wall! There was lots of encouragement from our teammates, which really impressed our teachers!

Our lunch today was a choice of hot dogs, beef pasties or cheese pasties. This was devoured and enjoyed by all of us.

Despite a windy afternoon, we’ve really enjoyed working together as one big group to play orienteering tag. Following this, we split off into groups to build our very own shelters. We were set the mission to ensure that they were waterproof.

This evening, we’ve had a great time playing dodgeball and taking part in mini-olympics. The adults were incredibly proud of our team work during these activities.

We hope you’re not missing us too much. We can’t wait to update you on the fun we’re having here again tomorrow.

A big hello from us all again at Kingswood,

We’ve once again had another incredibly busy day here. However, we’re having so much fun, with lots of smiles and new experiences.

After a tasty breakfast, where we had the choice of a range of cereals, toast, fresh fruit or sausages, bacon and eggs, we began our day with an obstacle challenge.

Following this, we had the opportunity to explore the Kingswood grounds to take part in a mini-beast hunt. We loved discovering the types of crustaceans, insects and myriapods that were found around the site.

This afternoon, we had the chance to scale Jacob’s Ladder. This involved lots of concentration, resilience and team work.

For our evening meal, we had the choice of hunter’s chicken, chicken nuggets or vegan nuggets, with diced herb potatoes and vegetables. We loved our dessert of ice-cream!

To celebrate our last evening at Kingswood, we’ve just had a disco. There was lots of dancing and smiles as we shared our best moves!

We can’t wait to see you all tomorrow. You’ll receive a text message from school when we set off from Kingswood.

See you all soon, from all of us here at Kingswood.
