Achievement

At Temple Meadow Primary School, achievement is about ensuring that every child learns well, develops secure knowledge and skills, and is prepared for the next stage of their education. We use assessment as an integral part of teaching and learning, enabling staff to understand what children know, remember and can do, and to identify the next steps in their learning.

Assessment is used purposefully and proportionately to inform high-quality teaching. Through skilled questioning, observation, feedback and regular checks on learning, teachers identify misconceptions, celebrate success and adapt teaching to meet the needs of individual children. This ensures that all children, including those with SEND and other vulnerabilities, receive the support and challenge they need to make strong progress.

We have high expectations for every child and carefully monitor achievement across the curriculum. By working closely with children and families, we ensure that barriers to success are identified and addressed promptly. Our approach helps children to develop confidence, resilience and independence, enabling them to achieve well from their starting points and fulfil their potential.

Achievement at Temple Meadow extends beyond academic outcomes. We recognise and celebrate children's personal development, attendance, attitudes to learning, talents and wider contributions to school life, ensuring that every child is supported to flourish and succeed.
