Employment Opportunities

Learning Support Practitioner - Level 3

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced LSP3 to join our team who really shares our passion for Inclusion. You will join a teaching and support team with high aspirations regarding meeting our diverse learner needs. Our school values of ‘belong, nurture, thrive, discover and grow’ underpin all that we do, and the right candidate will foster these to support creating an inclusive learning environment for all.

As an LSP3, you will play a vital role in supporting children with their learning, ensuring they reach their full potential. You will work closely with teachers and other staff to deliver tailored support, including working with children who have additional needs.

You need to be appropriately literate and numerate. You will need to have experience of delivering high quality phonic sessions (we use Little Wandle). Your role will involve high quality support to learning and achievement for vulnerable groups; initially within Key Stage 2.

The working hours are 8.45-3.45pm each day. This is a permanent post.

This post will start as soon as we can possibly have you! You need to have a relevant NVQ3 or equivalent qualification and you must have prior experience of working in a Primary school setting in a paid capacity, as a member of the Learning Support team (this post is not suitable for applicants with only work experience in school).

LSP3 staff at Temple Meadow need to be highly professional, adaptable and child centred. This post requires experience of working in urban areas such as Sandwell, within a primary school. Ideally you will have key training from your current setting that will benefit you in this role; this might include: First Aid; Little Wandle; WellComm; Food Hygiene. A forest school leader qualification would be advantageous.

Do have a good look at our website, as it will give you a really good understanding of our school community.

Applications can be submitted to the school office, either in person or via email to tm.admin@meadow.sandwell.sch.uk. Application packs can be downloaded from the Local Authority website, as well as the school website. Potential applicants are very welcome to contact the school on 01384 569021 for a discussion or visits prior to application.

Please note part of our shortlisting process uses the application form to assess your literacy and presentation skills. Our recruitment process will involve a long and shortlisting process, so we get the opportunity of seeing you in class interacting and supporting learning. Our long list will be narrowed down to a short list for interview.

Temple Meadow is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of vulnerable groups including children, and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. An enhanced DBS clearance is therefore required for this role.
