At Temple Meadow Primary School, we believe our school uniform should promote a sense of belonging, inclusion and pride whilst ensuring children are comfortable, active and ready to learn.

Following consultation with families and in line with our commitment to OPAL (Outdoor Play and Learning), we offer two uniform options:

• Active Uniform – designed to support movement, outdoor play and physical development throughout the school day.
• Traditional Uniform – for families who prefer a more traditional approach to school dress.

Both options ensure children look smart, feel comfortable and are fully prepared to participate in all aspects of school life.

At Temple Meadow, only stud earrings are permitted, for health and safety reasons.

Children are permitted to wear a watch. Please note that smart watches are not permitted due to safeguarding reasons. Mobile phones and other non-essential items are not allowed in school. Year 6 pupils who walk home from school are allowed to bring their phone into school. Phones will be stored safely in the School Office until the end of the school day.

We do encourage children to tie hair back where possible, as this can be a distraction in the classroom as well as pose health and safety concern during some physical activities.

Children are not permitted to wear make-up or nail varnish to school.

We actively encourage all children to tie their hair back (where long enough to do so). There are many reasons for this, including health and safety, hygiene, focus and learning, uniformity and practicality.  All hair accessories should be appropriate for school and not overly decorative.

Valuables: School cannot be held responsible for the loss of any jewellery, money and other personal items as they are not permitted in school.
