Welcome to Year 4!
4 Ahlberg - Miss Skelding
4 Cowell - Mrs Shelley and Mrs Bayley
Learning support - Mr Taylor and Mrs Chadbund on a morning and Mrs Bull on an afternoon.
Each week pupils will be set Maths homework (linked to the learning journey that week). Pupils are also asked to complete a task of their choice each week from the sheet in the front of their topic homework books.
Homework is set on a Friday and is due in on a Wednesday.
Every child has been issued with a home reading book. We ask, if possible, that your child reads at home every day. This could be to an adult, sibling, pet or themselves. Please sign your child's reading record book when they have read at home. Books will be collected on a Wednesday and given out on a Friday.
This term we are going swimming on a Tuesday afternoon. Please remember your child's swimming kit and towel. As this counts as one of our P.E. lessons, P.E. now only takes place on a Thursday. Please ensure your child has an appropriate P.E. kit in school on these days.
Reminder - plasters can not be worn over earrings. All jewellery must be removed for P.E. lessons.
Beyond the Great Wall
Our Autumn term topic in Year 4 is all about China. We will be exploring the Geography of the country and the foods and culture there, developing our skills and knowledge along the way.
Our key text this term is 'Spilled Water by Sally Grindley'.
Keep checking back for updates.
What a disaster!
In Spring term, we are looking at natural disasters, to support this, in our English lessons we are reading 'Floodland' by Marcus Sedgwick.
