We celebrated World Book Day by having a reading class sleepover in the hall. Children came to school dressed in their pyjamas and brought in their favourite book or chose one from our school library to read and share with their friends. The children had a great time drinking hot chocolate and reading under a blanket.
We also had parent and staff mystery readers for each year group, sharing their favourite story with the children. In the classroom, there were many different book activities being carried out, one of them being 'drop and read' where children had brought in wrapped up books. Once the bell had rung, the children got to choose a book to unwrap and read; this was a very exciting experience for our children.
