School Uniform

At Temple Meadow it is school policy to wear school uniform.  We believe that this helps promote positive identity and unity, supports discipline, sets standards and prevents pupils from wearing unsafe, unsuitable ‘fashion’ clothing and shoes, which can also be more costly and harder to replace. Sweatshirts, cardigans, reversible fleece/waterproofs, fleeces and polo shirts with the school logo are all available from Ace Embroidery via their website in a range of sizes. Direct link available on Temple Meadow website.

  • Our Reception P.E. sessions begin a few weeks after the children start. We will contact you prior to this but you can practise getting dressed and undressed with your child at home. Please send in their P.E. kit . Earrings worn by children must be removed by parents and long hair must be tied back for their safety. If you can clearly label the bag and all the items inside it really supports us in knowing who the different items belong to. As you may know 26 black shorts and white polo tops can all look very similar if they have no names to distinguish them. Thank you!

  • Each child will receive a reading book which is based on the Phonic phase your child is working on.
  • From week 2, your child will bring home a reading book and a library book. These will need to be kept in your child's book bag and brought into school every day.
  • Your child will also be given a reading record, the intent of this is for parents to write comments in after they have heard your child read and for staff to comment in.
  • Each week's Star of the Week, will get to bring in their favourite book and will share with their class  in our Friday Favourites session and receive the Friday Favourites certificate!

Water bottles

  • You can bring a water bottle into school (filled with water only). Please remember to put your name on the bottle.

Home learning

  • Home learning  must be handed in by a  Wednesday, this will be marked and new home learning will be given out on the same day. This will be inserted into your child’s popper wallet which they will receive during their first few days of school. Please ensure that once the work is marked this is then taken out and kept at home.
  • Homework will include:
  • Phase 1, Phase 2 or phase 3 Phonics activity
  • Maths task linked to learning in school .
