It has been an inspiring and rewarding week at Temple Meadow Primary School and I am delighted to share some of the wonderful highlights with you.

Nursery Visit to Wyre Forest
No photo description available. On Wednesday, our Nursery children had an amazing time exploring The Wyre Forest. They loved crunching through the autumn leaves, spotting the Gruffalo and even helping to find Stick Man! A huge thank you to all the families who joined us; we hope you enjoyed the day as much as we did. This is the first time as a school that our Nursery cohort have experienced an off-site visit and we are delighted with how successful it was.

Football Tournament Success
We are thrilled to announce that a group of 8 children represented Temple Meadow brilliantly at the inter-school football tournament held at West Bromwich Albion’s Academy Dome. They competed with great determination, teamwork and sportsmanship, showcasing our school values throughout the event.

They came second in their group, narrowly missing out on the next stage by just one point.

We are so proud of their efforts and the way they represented Temple Meadow.

Family Engagement Evening
Wednesday's Family Engagement Evening was a fantastic success, with the highest number of appointments ever booked! It was wonderful to see so many families engaging with teachers and celebrating children’s progress. We are also pleased to see the My Child at School app working so well for bookings. Thank you for your support; we hope you enjoyed the evening and found it valuable. A huge thank you to our Head Boys and Head Girls who supported the event with the running of our tuck shop and helping with many other responsibilities.

We'd also like to thank our Governors who were able to join us.

Children in Need
A huge thank you for your generosity during our Children in Need fundraising activities. Together, we raised an incredible £209.85! Your kindness helps make a real difference.

Thank you for your continued support in making Temple Meadow such a vibrant and caring community.

Poppy Appeal

We are thrilled to announce that Temple Meadow has raised the highest amount in the Royal British Legion Poppy Appeal across Sandwell and Dudley schools! 🌺

Thanks to the incredible generosity of our families and the hard work of our children, we collected an amazing £475.31 for this important cause. 💖

This means we will proudly receive The Harry Sturman Memorial Trophy, which recognises the school that raises the most during the appeal.

A huge thank you to everyone who contributed; your kindness makes a real difference to those who have served and their families.

Donate Your Unused Coats

As the colder weather sets in, we want to make sure every child stays warm this winter. If you have any unused coats at home that are still in good condition, please consider donating them to school.

Your generosity will help families who may need a little extra support this season.

Please drop any coats to our Community Hub located just off the KS1 playground.

Thank you for helping us keep our children warm.

Reminders

No Food from Home
Please do not send in food for children to share in school or on the playground. We have a significant number of children with allergies and this is essential to keep everyone safe.

Birthdays
On their birthday, children are welcome to wear their own clothes for the day as a special treat! 🎉

Thank you for your continued support in keeping our school a safe and inclusive environment for all.

Reception 2026

The application window for Reception 2026 places opened on Monday 15th September 2025.

Temple Meadow Primary School
Thank you to everyone who supported our recent campaign to improve safety outside Temple Meadow. We've now received a detailed response from Sandwell Council regarding our concerns, which we've summarised below: Traffic Flow & Safety The council confirmed that congestion at peak times helps keep vehicle speeds low, reducing risk to children. A review of the last three years shows no recorded injury collisions near the school. Introducing a one-way system is not recommended, as it could increase vehicle speeds and make collisions more severe. Parking Enforcement Parking enforcement officers will continue regular patrols, supported by CCTV vehicles. Additional enforcement will take place along Wrights Lane and Clifton Street to deter illegal parking. Areas without restrictions cannot be enforced under current law. Road Safety Education Our children have already received road safety sessions and we'll keep reinforcing these messages. The council can support a parking campaign where children design banners and signs to encourage responsible parking. Air Quality & Sustainable Travel The council offers workshops and resources to help children understand air pollution and promote walking, cycling, and scooting. Police Enforcement Aggressive or dangerous behaviour should be reported to the Police via their website. Operation Snap allows you to upload video evidence of poor driving for police review. While no immediate changes to road layout are planned, the council is exploring School Streets for the future, which could significantly reduce congestion and improve safety. Please continue to: Walk, cycle, or scoot where possible. Park responsibly and avoid zig-zag areas. Report dangerous behaviour to the Police. Thank you for your ongoing support!
