Hello and welcome back!
I hope you and your family had a wonderful summer. Despite the change in weather this week, it’s been lovely to see so many smiling faces on the playground.
Our First Week Back
We’ve started the new term by reviewing our school values and reading the story, 'Ruby's Worry.' The children have been focused on helping each other with the transition from the summer holidays back to school and they've been doing an excellent job of addressing any worries they may have.
In the classrooms, the children have been hard at work on the value of Belonging and they've been creating unique portraits to celebrate our individuality. Starting next week, you will have the opportunity to come into school and complete a special activity with your child related to our Belonging value. This will also be a great chance to meet their class teacher and have an informal chat.
We've also been delighted to welcome our new Reception cohort, who all look so grown up in their uniforms! We can't wait to welcome our Nursery children back next week.

Professional Development and Curriculum
Our staff have been busy with professional development and training this week. On Monday, we launched a new maths curriculum using White Rose Maths resources. On Tuesday, we introduced a new handwriting program called Kinetic Letters. We will be sharing more information about these exciting curriculum changes as we move through the autumn term.
Home Learning
Home learning will restart in Week 2. We will be continuing with the weekly creative writing task, spelling lists and access to Times Tables Rock Stars. We are currently reviewing the feedback from our family questionnaire and will share our findings later this half-term.
