What a week it's been for us here at Temple Meadow!
Our Year 6 children have had the busiest week, starting with their end-of-year leavers' trip to the Safari Park. They also took part in an inspiring Create Day, led by the Royal Opera at St Michael’s on Tuesday and enjoyed their end-of-year leavers’ celebration event on Thursday evening.
We’re really looking forward to our final week with our wonderful Year 6 cohort. They’ll be proudly wearing their leavers hoodies and on the afternoon of Tuesday 15th July, they’ll perform their end-of-school journey production for their families. We'll also be presenting them with their special leavers' memory books.
We’ve had lots of other exciting things happening this week too, including our Year 1 trip to the Sealife Centre. The children were exceptionally well-behaved and thoroughly enjoyed the visit. A huge thank you to our staff team and the parent volunteers who supported the trip – your help ensured it was both safe and enjoyable for everyone. We really appreciate your support.
Wow – what a treat Year 3 gave us with their performance of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory! This is such a unique aspect of our Temple Meadow curriculum, and we absolutely love seeing our children perform, sing, and dance. Well done, Year 3!

Year 2 shared their music performance with families and impressed everyone with their developing glockenspiel skills. Year 1 also wowed us earlier this week with their music showcase – there were definitely a few teary eyes in the audience as the children beautifully sang When I Grow Up from Matilda. What a magical moment! Year 4 took to the stage as well, proudly showcasing their PBone skills to families – it was wonderful to see their confidence and musical progress on display.

Who’s excited about our first-ever Summer Festival next Wednesday?! Thank you to everyone who sent their child to school with a bottle of something lovely for our bottle tombola. More information about the Summer Festival can be found below.
A big thank you as well to the parents who attended the residential meeting for the September trip. For anyone who couldn’t make it, all the key information is now available on our school website.
Today we celebrated French Friday!

Children came dressed in red, white, and blue, and we came together in the afternoon for some joyful Bastille Day festivities. Throughout the day, children constructed their own Eiffel Towers, learnt and performed French songs, and practised their French language skills. It was a brilliant celebration of French culture and a fun way to bring language learning to life!
I wanted to share my immense pride following this week's Head Boy and Head Girl presentations. A huge well done to every single Year 5 child who bravely stood up in front of their peers to put themselves forward for these important roles. It was truly inspiring to hear the children articulate their reasons for wanting to represent our school. They are a special group, full of positive leadership attributes. We saw a wonderful variety of presentations – from creative PowerPoints and posters to heartfelt speeches straight from the heart.
Voting is now open to staff across the school. They’ll vote based on their experience and knowledge of the children – some going back to Nursery, others based on more recent relationships. We will proudly announce our three Head Boys and three Head Girls during next Friday’s assembly. We've already reassured all the children that, regardless of the outcome, they are all deeply valued. Year 6 will be full of exciting opportunities for every child to represent Temple Meadow in meaningful ways.
Finally, a big thank you to the three parents who kindly put themselves forward to help with painting this week. We’re freshening up some of our Early Years outdoor spaces and really appreciate the extra pairs of hands – your support makes a big difference!
