Friday 21st March 2025

Our week started with a visit from Louise from Sandwell MBC who joined us to talk about Road Safety. The session was incredibly valuable, helping our children understand how to stay safe while out and about. A huge thank you to Louise for taking the time to support our school community!

On Tuesday, we had a wonderful visit from Josie, our School Improvement Advisor, who shared some fantastic feedback on our journey with metacognition and self-regulation. She highlighted the positive impact it’s having on our overall learning culture and we couldn’t be prouder! Our children truly are incredible—they work so hard each and every day and it’s amazing to see their dedication shine through. Well done, everyone!

We've had an amazing time celebrating this week with Hoop Guy and raising money for an incredible charity. A huge thanks to Mrs. Cleal for organising our fantastic Comic Relief celebrations! Your donations will help fill the shelves of baby banks and community food centres, fund vital community-led services like health workers and local youth safe spaces and support safe passage for people escaping danger.

Find out more about the impact of your generosity at the website below.

What your money does - Comic Relief

What a week for our groups working with HugglePets! 🐾 This week, they had the amazing opportunity to meet the absolutely gorgeous Murphy; a lovely Golden Retriever. It was a fantastic experience for everyone involved! 🐶

Please see below for information about our ‘Break the Uniform Rules’ fundraising day on Wednesday 9th April 2025. Get ready for a fun-filled day while raising money to support our expansion of Huggle Pets across school next academic year!

On Wednesday, Nursery had a visit from Animal Antics. See below for more details.

Next week, we are excited to host the Rowley Regis Learning Community Dance Festival!

As a school, we successfully bid for funding linked to mental health and the impacts of COVID, securing enough support to bring together a small group of children from all schools across the RRLC. They will join us in our incredible dance studio to celebrate through movement and creativity. A special shoutout to a group of our Year 4 children, who have been working hard with Miss Nugent to prepare a fantastic performance to share with the other schools. We can't wait to see them shine! ✨

Don’t forget next Thursday is our next Coffee Morning, featuring a range of special guests. If you're a Facebook user, please give our recent post a like so we can gauge numbers for our setup arrangements. It would be fantastic to have our best turnout yet!

We look forward to seeing you there!

SNAP Project

SNAP stands for the School Nurse Ambassador Program. It is an opportunity for four of our Year 5 children to be more involved in how the School Health Nurse service is delivered and ensure they have their voices heard.

Our ambassadors are Arthur, Arthur, Amina and Daria. They had to write a paragraph to say why they would make a good SNAP ambassador in order to be selected. Each Ambassador will receive a pin badge to wear. There will be fortnightly 1-hour sessions where they will work on any public health topics that we have as a school. The sessions are carried out in a fun and educational way. The idea behind the sessions is that they are led by the children. This can be as creative as they like! The more creative the better!

Break The Uniform Rules Day

On Wednesday 9th April 2025, we will be raising money by holding a 'Break the Uniform Rules Day'. Children are invited to come to school in their home clothes, fancy dress, pyjamas, or even a random selection of all three! They can also wear clothes back to front, get creative with their hair, and enjoy makeup and nail varnish (this will be allowed on this day only).

We are asking for donations of £1 per child.

Please remember:

  • Footwear must be appropriate for all-day use—no high heels or studded boots, please.
  • No makeup or jewellery should be brought to school

We encourage everyone to get involved, have fun, and support us to raise money for our school.

Animal Antics

We had an amazing time on Wednesday when Angie's Animal Antics visited our Nursery! Children got to meet and learn about a variety of incredible animals up close. It was a fun and educational experience for everyone!

Year 6 Maths - Working with Ormiston Forge

We are proud to share that this week, Mr. Smith has been working with the Assistant Subject Lead for Maths at Ormiston Forge Academy. He is part of the Years 5–8 Continuity Maths Hub, which focusses on improving the transition between KS2 and KS3.

As part of this initiative, the Assistant Subject Lead for Maths at Ormiston Forge Academy has visited Temple Meadow to observe how Year 6 maths is taught, discuss teaching methods and explore how best to ensure continuity when our children move on to Year 7. This collaboration is a fantastic opportunity to strengthen the transition to secondary school and support our children in making continued progress.

Neurodiversity Celebration Week

This week, we have been celebrating Neurodiversity Celebration Week, a global initiative that challenges stereotypes and misconceptions about neurological differences. It has been a fantastic opportunity to recognise and celebrate the many skills and talents of neurodivergent individuals while reinforcing the importance of inclusion and equity within our school community.
