Friday 14th February 2025

Welcome to our final Family Connect for the first half of the spring term – we've made it to half term! This week, there have been so many exciting events and it has been lovely to see so many families and friends attending our engagement activities. We had a wonderful turnout for our Reception and Nursery Stay and Play, as well as for the Year 5 ukulele and Year 4 PBone performances. A group of Year 5 and 6 children attended a Maths Champion event, and we have all been focused on Safer Internet and Mental Health Week.

I hope you have a restful and relaxing half term, and we look forward to welcoming you back on Monday 24th February 2025.

A huge thanks to Miss Hodgetts and Mrs Cleal for facilitating a wonderful Stay and Play opportunity for our children and their families. 🙏👏 A big thank you as well to everyone who attended – we hope you’ve left feeling inspired to set up fun Maths learning activities at home! 📚✨

Home Learning

Please ensure that you have read my separate communication regarding home learning, as there will be changes implemented during the first week back after half term.

World Book Day

May be an image of text that says "WORLD O DAY 6MARCH2025 6 MARCH 2025"We are excited to announce that we will be celebrating World Book Day on Thursday, 6th March 2025! This year’s event has been shaped by our very own Pupil Parliament and the pupil voice gathered from their classes, making it a truly special occasion for all.

To mark the day, children are invited to come to school in fancy dress, dressed as their favourite book characters, or in their Pyjamas, to symbolise bedtime stories. It's a great chance for children to share their love of reading and get creative with their outfits!

Family Engagement Evening

We invite all families to join us for our upcoming Family Engagement Evening on Wednesday 5th March 2025 from 3:30-6:30pm.

This evening offers an invaluable opportunity to discuss your child’s progress, achievements and areas for development with their teachers. It also serves as an occasion to strengthen the partnership between home and school, ensuring we continue to support your child’s learning and well-being.

We look forward to seeing you there!

The Magical Yet

In Monday's assembly, Miss Dale shared the story The Magical Yet as part of our assembly linked to mental health week. The Magical Yet is a rhyming story focused on turning a negative into a positive when helping children cope with the inevitable difficult learning moments we all face. This encouraging and uplifting book reminds us that we all have things we haven't learnt...yet! Miss Dale then explored how we can look after our mental health and who we can seek support from.

Impressive Writing

This week, Year 6 has been writing a narrative called Road's End. Miss Dale was very impressed with the suspense and description in Hassaan's writing.
