Dear Families,

Welcome back to Autumn Term 2! We hope you're finding our regular Family Connect updates helpful, as these are designed to capture all the key information you need about school activities, reducing the number of individual letters we send home.

A special thanks goes to our Governors, who have been incredibly active and visible around the school this year. Their support for both myself as Headteacher and the entire Temple Meadow community has been invaluable. Our Governors are committed to building stronger connections with staff, children, and families, and you’ll see some of them at our upcoming Family Engagement Evening. Be sure to stop by and say hello!

Speaking of the Family Engagement Evening, remember this event offers a wonderful opportunity to connect with your child’s class teacher, discuss their journey at Temple Meadow, and sample our school menu. You can also explore our Art Gallery, enjoy snacks and drinks and browse pre-loved uniforms and books for both adults and children. Please do book in by using SchoolCloud if you haven't already. Do speak with the School Office if you need any help. We look forward to seeing you there!

Thank you to all the families who took the time to complete our Family Volunteer Questionnaire. We are currently reviewing your responses and are excited to explore ways you can support us further. We will be in touch in the coming weeks to discuss next steps and how we can work together to benefit our school community.

School Improvement Adviser

This week, we were pleased to welcome our school improvement advisor, Joise, who is also an Ofsted Inspector, for her Autumn term visit. Joise was extremely complimentary about our school, noting how settled all of our children are and acknowledging the strong, shared vision we have for each child at Temple Meadow. We are proud of our school community and the positive atmosphere that continues to grow here. Thank you for your ongoing support in making Temple Meadow a place where every child can thrive.

Children In Need (Friday 15th November 2025)

We’re excited to invite you to join our efforts to support Pudsey and raise money for Children in Need this year.

Our Pupil Parliament have collaborated with staff to plan some fantastic fundraising activities and we can’t wait to share them with you:

Back-to-Front Day for Pudsey

We’re encouraging all children to back Pudsey by wearing their clothes backwards for a donation of £1. This can be their school uniform or any outfit of their choice. Donations can be made by scanning our QR code and selecting the ‘Children In Need Donation’ option.

Pounds for Pudsey Cake Sale

We’re calling on families to donate pre-packaged cakes by Thursday 14th November 2024. These cakes must be sealed and store-bought. On Friday 15th November 2024, we’ll host a cake sale on the playgrounds after school. Each treat will be 50p, so remember to bring some cash and enjoy a sweet end-of-week treat!

Thank you for your continued support in helping us raise funds for Children in Need.

Remembrance Day

Remembrance Day around the world in 2024 | Office Holidays

This Monday, 11th November, we will be observing a two-minute silence in school to mark Remembrance Day. This will be a time for us to reflect and pay our respects to those who have served and sacrificed. We encourage you to speak with your child about the importance of this day, and we appreciate your support in helping us honor this tradition.

Inter Faith Week

Next week, we will celebrate anti-bullying week and acknowledge Inter Faith Week, which runs from 10th - 17th November 2024.

🖼️ This year, we will be celebrating by hosting an art and poetry competition. Children are invited to create a piece of artwork or a poem signifying the importance of Inter Faith Week. These can be done in any art form and be returned to your child's class teacher by Thursday 21st November 2024. There will be two winners from each Key Stage.

👕During the week, children will also have an R.E. lesson to discuss Inter Faith Week and its importance. Children are welcome to bring a special object or item of clothing that showcases their religion and the values/traditions that they enjoy.

After School Clubs

It has been great to see our after-school clubs get up and running this week.

On Monday, we started our SATS booster club and our Year 1 Phonics club.

On Tuesday, we started our ECO and KS2 choir clubs.

On Thursday, we started our KS1 football club. A huge thanks to Mr Beckett, one of our Family Volunteers, for sharing his knowledge and expertise.

In collaboration with trusted external providers, we are hoping to introduce clubs such as Dance, Drama, Science and Music for which a fee will apply, ensuring we can provide a range of high-quality experiences for our children.

We will send a separate communication soon regarding the specific dates and times and how you can book these clubs.

Bikeability

A huge congratulations to all children who completed their Bikeability sessions!

They have gained essential cycling skills, learned about road safety and are now more confident on two wheels.

Thank you to our instructors and everyone involved in making this program a success. Keep practising what you’ve learned, and stay safe on the roads!

Reception 2024 Open Morning

If you have a child or know someone due to start school in September 2025, please tell them why Temple Meadow is the perfect place for their child's education!

Our last open event will take place on Wednesday 27th November 2024 at 9:30am.
