Friday 11th October 2024

Dear Families,

Wow, it's already week 5! This half-term is flying by. I’d like to extend a big thank you to those families who attended the phonics workshops—your engagement is always appreciated.

As mentioned in previous communications, we asked you to ‘save the date’ for our new-look Parents’ Evening. I am excited to announce that it will now be known as our Family Engagement Evening, taking place on Wednesday, 20th November 2024, between 3:30pm and 6:30 pm.

This event will be a fantastic opportunity for you to meet with your child’s class teacher, take a look at their books and enjoy some exciting new additions, including our Family Refreshments, a Tuck Shop with a twist and an Art Gallery showcasing our children's creative work.

You will receive a letter shortly with further details; including how and when to book in using our SchooCloud system.

Curriculum Information

We are pleased to inform you that our school website now has detailed curriculum information for each subject area. You can explore the curriculum content, objectives, and how each subject is taught here at Temple Meadow.

Pupil Parliament

Our Pupil Parliament

At Temple Meadow, we are proud to have a vibrant Pupil Parliament, with representatives (MPs) from each year group. Throughout the year, our Pupil Parliament members take on many special roles and responsibilities, helping to shape school life with their ideas and leadership.

Currently, they are gathering input from their peers on how we can improve lunchtimes when it is too wet to go outside. This initiative gives our pupils a voice in making their school environment even better and we are excited to see the suggestions they bring forward.

Reception Open Event

Next week, we will host our first Reception 2025 Open Event.

If your child attends our Nursery or you know a family who has a child due to start Reception in September, this is the perfect opportunity for you to find out why Temple Meadow is the perfect place for your child's education.

Book into our Reception Open Event here!

Help Schools with Asda's Cash Pot!

We’re excited to announce that Asda’s Cash Pot for Schools is now live! This amazing initiative supports local schools by providing much-needed funds for essential supplies, activities, and facilities that benefit students.

How can you help? For every purchase made in-store, customers can donate to Temple Meadow by choosing to allocate Asda Rewards into the Cash Pot for Schools. The more we donate, the more we can make a difference in students' lives!

Why get involved?

  • Support education and your local school
  • Help provide books, equipment, and experiences for children
  • Every little donation counts!

Join us in empowering the next generation—because when schools thrive, so do our communities!

Photograph Day

We are excited to inform you that the whole school photograph day is scheduled for Thursday 17th October 2024. On this day, all children will have their photograph taken.

To ensure that your child is ready for the day, please make note of the following details:

  • Uniform: All children are required to wear their full school uniform. We kindly ask that children come to school looking neat and tidy for the photographs.
  • Timing: Please ensure your child arrives promptly at school as photographs will be taken throughout the day.

Handover Reminder

This is a gentle reminder to kindly supervise your children while waiting to hand over your child in the morning.

We ask that children do not go onto the field during this time to ensure their safety.

Children should not wear jewellery to school (with the exception of one pair of stud earrings) for obvious safety reasons and no jewellery can be worn for any session of P.E. (stud earrings need to be removed by the child prior to any PE activity).

Mobile phones, smart technology and other non-essential items are not allowed in school. Year 6 children who walk home from school are allowed to bring their phone into school. Phones will be stored safely in the School Office until the end of the school day.

We actively encourage all children to tie their hair back (where long enough to do so). There are many reasons for this, including health and safety, hygiene, focus and learning, uniformity and practicality. All hair accessories should be appropriate for school and not overly decorative.
