Dear Families,

We are excited to share that the first week of school was a great success! From welcoming new children to reuniting with familiar faces; the energy and excitement were felt throughout school. It has been a joy to see everyone settling into their classrooms, making new friends and diving into learning.

Girl Who Figured It Out, The: The Inspiring True Story of Wheelchair Athlete Minda Dentler Becoming an Ironman World Champion: Amazon.co.uk: Dentler, Minda, Dehennin, Stephanie: 9781728276533: BooksWe started the week with a lovely assembly where we shared the real-life story of an incredibly inspiring athlete Minda Dentlor who overcame many adversities to achieve her goals and use this to set ourselves personal goals for the academic year.

Proud To Be Me

Children have this week focused on Proud To Be Me where they have celebrated their individuality and have created self-portraits using a range of media.

Over the coming week, all children's self-portraits will be proudly displayed in our new greeting area; please pop in and spot your child's self-portrait.

Our School Site

I wanted to take a moment to share how wonderful our school site is looking as we begin this new school year. Over the summer, we’ve made some updates and improvements to ensure that the school environment is not only safe and functional but also welcoming and inspiring for our children.

The grounds have been well-maintained, with beautiful greenery and flowers adding a touch of colour and vibrancy. The site team have been working hard and many areas of the site have received a touch of paint. Whilst we are lucky to have such an expansive school site, it can be difficult to maintain and over the coming weeks we will be requesting parent support to come into school and help refresh some of our outdoor areas that are in need of a lick of paint.

Late Collections

As you will be aware, our school day finished at 3.20pm and we request that children are collected promptly.

Whilst we do understand that unexpected delays occasionally occur, a timely collection is crucial for ensuring the smooth operation of our school and the safety and well-being for all children.

You will be aware that school do offer wrap-around childcare through the 4CT provision, where parents can book breakfast and after-school places. Please do contact them directly for more information or bookings.

If your child is collected after the grace period, you will incur a late collection fee, in line with our school policy.  You will find the late collection fee of £5 per child payable on your ParentPay account.

Nut-Free School

I wanted to send a quick reminder that our school is a nut-free environment. This policy is in place to ensure the safety of all our students, including those with severe nut allergies.

To help us maintain a safe environment, please ensure that any snacks or lunches packed for your child do not contain nuts or nut products. This includes items like peanut butter, nut-based spreads, and snacks containing nuts.

We appreciate your understanding and cooperation in this matter. By adhering to this policy, we can protect the health and well-being of all our children.

Green Flag Award

Green Flag Award - Green Flag AwardI’m thrilled to share some wonderful news with you; our school has been awarded the prestigious Green Flag Award! This recognition is a testament to our collective commitment to sustainability, environmental education, and making our school a greener, more eco-friendly place.

Achieving this award is no small feat, and it reflects the hard work and dedication of our entire school community—children, staff, and parents alike. From recycling initiatives to energy-saving efforts and our beautiful school grounds, every effort has contributed to this fantastic accomplishment.

We’re incredibly proud of this achievement and will continue to prioritise environmental responsibility in all that we do. We’re excited to build on this success and further embed sustainability into our school’s culture.

Thank you to Mrs Bayley for leading on this initiative and to all of our families for all your support in helping us to achieving this milestone. Let’s continue to work together to make our school an even more vibrant and sustainable place for our children.

Social Media - Coming Soon

We are excited to announce that our school will soon be launching official social media pages!

These pages will provide a wonderful opportunity for us to connect with you more directly and keep you updated on all the exciting activities, events, and achievements at Temple Meadow. Our social media presence will also allow us to share photos, stories, and important announcements in real-time.
