As we break up today for the October half-term holiday, I would like to thank all of our children, families and staff for their continued support throughout what has been a busy and successful half term.
Earlier this week, we held our RSHE Parent Workshop, providing families with the opportunity to learn more about our new RSHE curriculum and the important themes it covers, including wellbeing, healthy relationships, personal safety and online safety. It was wonderful to see so many families in attendance and engaging positively with this important aspect of school life. We will add some further information to our school website for those that were not able to attend.
On Thursday evening, our boys' football team represented the school brilliantly in their fixture against Highfields. Whilst the result did not go our way, the team demonstrated determination, teamwork and excellent sportsmanship throughout. We are incredibly proud of how they conducted themselves and the effort they showed from start to finish.
Today, we concluded the half-term with our Values Assembly, where we celebrated children who have consistently demonstrated our school value of Belong. Congratulations to all of our award winners. It was a pleasure to recognise so many children who help make Temple Meadow a welcoming, inclusive and supportive community for everyone.
As we move into the next half term, we have a few staffing updates to share with our school community.
We would like to wish Mrs Colwell every happiness as she begins her maternity leave ahead of welcoming her second child. We know many families will want to join us in congratulating her and wishing her and her family all the very best for this exciting new chapter.

We will also be saying goodbye to Mrs Bagail, who is leaving Temple Meadow. Mrs Bagail has made a valued contribution to our school and will be hugely missed by both staff and children. We thank her for everything she has done and wish her every success and happiness for the future.

We are currently recruiting to fill vacancies and remain committed to maintaining our strong Learning Support Practitioner team across Years 1 and 2, ensuring that children continue to receive the high-quality support they deserve.
Finally, we are delighted to welcome Mr Wilkes to Temple Meadow. Mr Wilkes joins our team in Year 4, and we know that children and families will make him feel very welcome as he settles into school life.
After half term, we will be making a couple of changes to our STAR Assembly celebrations. Assemblies will move to 2:40pm on Monday afternoons, and Star of the Week awards will become a surprise for children, making the moment even more special!
Families of selected children will continue to be invited to attend. Please see the separate letter sent this week for full details. We look forward to celebrating the achievements of our children with you.
A reminder that entries for the BBC 500 Words Story Writing Competition should be returned to Mrs Van Straaten or Mr Curzon by Wednesday 4th November. We would love as many children as possible to take part and showcase their creativity and imagination.
Children are invited to enter the Christmas Card Competition by submitting their festive design to the entry box in reception. All entries must be received by Monday 9th November. We can't wait to see the wonderful artwork our children create!
I hope all of our families enjoy a restful and enjoyable half-term break, and we look forward to welcoming everyone back refreshed and ready for another exciting half term.
