As we continue our journey through the autumn term, this week has once again provided our children with a range of valuable opportunities to develop their knowledge, skills and character beyond the classroom.
Last week, some of our Year 5 and Year 6 children enjoyed an incredible week at Plas Gwynant, taking part in a range of adventurous activities including mountain walking, abseiling, canoeing, gorge walking, beach visits and Via Ferrata. Throughout the week, they demonstrated outstanding resilience, teamwork and determination, while developing their confidence and independence. The children embraced every challenge with enthusiasm, supported one another brilliantly and created memories that will last a lifetime. We are extremely proud of how they represented themselves, their families and our school throughout this fantastic residential experience.

On Monday, we came together for our Harvest Assembly, where children explored the meaning of Harvest and reflected on the importance of supporting others within our local community. We were proud to introduce the work of the Black Country Foodbank and discuss how even small acts of generosity can make a significant difference to families experiencing hardship. Donations have been arriving throughout the week and will be collected on Thursday. Thank you to all families who have already contributed to this worthwhile cause.

It has been another busy and successful week for our football teams. On Monday afternoon, our Boys' Football Team represented the school superbly in an exciting fixture, securing a fantastic 11-8 victory. The match was packed with action, and the children demonstrated excellent perseverance, determination and sportsmanship throughout.
Equally, a huge well done to our Girls' Football Team, who played brilliantly in a thrilling 7-5 defeat. Despite the result, the team showed fantastic resilience, teamwork and commitment from start to finish, never giving up and supporting one another throughout. We are incredibly proud of both teams, who represented our school with great pride and demonstrated the values of confidence, resilience and teamwork in every moment.

On Tuesday, Year 4 enjoyed a Geography fieldwork visit to Haden Hill Park. Children applied their classroom learning in a real-world setting, exploring how local woodland is used by the community while developing important fieldwork skills. They collected and recorded data, completed geographical observations, mapped routes and considered how to assess and manage risks when working outdoors. Experiences such as these help bring learning to life and deepen children's understanding of the world around them.
On Wednesday, we were delighted to welcome prospective families into school for our first Reception 2027 Open Event. It was a wonderful opportunity to showcase our school, meet future children and families, and share what makes Temple Meadow such a special place to learn and grow. Thank you to all staff and children who helped make the event such a success. If you know anyone who may be interested in a Reception place next year, please click the link below to book into our next open event.
