As we reach the end of another successful academic year and prepare to break up for the summer holidays, I would like to take this opportunity to reflect on what has been a truly wonderful final week at Temple Meadow.

On Tuesday, our Year 6 children took to the stage to perform their end-of-year production, Gigglebox. We are so proud of the children and grateful to all staff and families who supported them in bringing the production to life.

As they prepare to leave us and begin the next exciting chapter of their educational journey, we would like to wish all of our Year 6 children the very best for the future. Thank you for the contributions you have made to our school community and for the wonderful memories you leave behind. We are incredibly proud of each and every one of you and know that you will continue to achieve great things.

Good luck, Year 6 – once part of our school family, always part of our school family!

Wednesday saw our much-anticipated Summer Festival take place. The school grounds were filled with smiles, laughter and a wonderful community spirit as children and families enjoyed a range of activities, games and treats. Thank you to everyone who attended and supported the event. Your generosity and enthusiasm helped make it a fantastic celebration and a fitting way to enjoy the summer term together. We raised £1601 which contributed to an overall fundraising total for this year of £3009. Thank you so much for your generosity!

On Thursday, we celebrated a very special milestone as we welcomed families to our Nursery Graduation Ceremony. It was a joyful occasion filled with pride as we recognised the achievements of our Nursery children who are ready to begin their Reception journey in September.

To conclude the academic year, we gathered together for our termly Values and Curriculum Champions Assembly, where we celebrated the many achievements, successes and positive contributions made by children across the school. It was wonderful to recognise those who consistently demonstrate our school values and take pride in their learning.

We were also delighted to announce our new Head Boys and Head Girls for September. Congratulations to all those selected for these prestigious roles. We know they will be excellent ambassadors for Temple Meadow and look forward to seeing them thrive in their positions next year.

Recently, our pupils have been diving deep into the rich heritage of the Black Country. To bring this history to life, each class researched an influential figure who helped shape our region's culture and identity. Pupils explored the incredible legacies of a range of people, including rock legend Robert Plant, pioneering trade unionist Mary Macarthur, acclaimed actress Dame Julie Walters and beloved children's author Allan Ahlberg.

We are incredibly proud of the children's hard work and historical insights. Their fantastic findings and creative pieces will soon be officially showcased in frames along the KS2 corridor for all to see. Keep an eye out for these brilliant displays during your next visit to the school!

As this academic year comes to a close, we also say a fond farewell to Mrs Chadbund, who leaves Temple Meadow today after nine years of dedicated service to our school community. Throughout her time with us, she has made a lasting difference to the lives of so many children and families, and her commitment, care and support will be greatly missed. On behalf of everyone at Temple Meadow, I would like to thank Mrs Chadbund for all that she has contributed over the years and wish her every happiness and success in the future.

Finally, I would like to thank our children, families, staff and wider community for your continued support throughout the year. Together, we have achieved so much, and I am incredibly proud of all that has been accomplished.

I wish all of our families a safe, happy and relaxing summer holiday. We look forward to welcoming everyone back in September for another exciting year of learning and success. A reminder that children in Reception-Year 6 return on Thursday 3rd September 2026.
