With just one more week to go until we break up for the summer holidays, there is still plenty happening across school. The warm weather has returned this week, although thankfully it has not been quite as intense as the temperatures we experienced over the last couple of weeks. Thank you for continuing to support us in ensuring children come to school prepared for the warmer conditions.
We do still have some children in school without sun cream applied and suitable hats; please do ensure your child arrives to school with these. Thinking about a future strategy to ensure that all children are wearing a suitable hat/cap when outdoors, we are going to build a spare provision. Therefore, if you have any old or unwanted caps/hats at home, please donate these to our School Office.
On Tuesday, our Year 6 children enjoyed a fantastic visit to West Midlands Safari Park as part of their end-of-year celebrations. The trip gave children the opportunity to see incredible animals up close and enjoy a range of exciting attractions and rides. It was a wonderful day filled with fun, laughter and lasting memories as our Year 6 children begin to reflect on their time at Temple Meadow.
Also on Tuesday, our Year 5 children proudly hosted their Hip-Hop Dance Performance. Throughout the summer term, children have been developing their dance skills, learning choreography inspired by Boy Blue Entertainment, exploring improvisation and creating their own collaborative routines. It was wonderful to see the confidence, creativity and enthusiasm on display as they showcased their learning to both the school community and their families.
On Thursday, we were delighted to hold our Early Years Sports Day for children in Nursery and Reception. The event was filled with smiles, determination and lots of encouragement from families. Children thoroughly enjoyed taking part and showing off their developing physical skills. Then on Friday, it was the turn of our Years 5 and 6 children, who demonstrated excellent sportsmanship, resilience and teamwork throughout their Sports Day events.
Thursday also saw our much-anticipated Year 6 End of Year Celebration Event. Children enjoyed a special outdoor celebration featuring music, food and a variety of carnival-themed activities. It was a fantastic opportunity for Year 6 to come together, celebrate their achievements and create special memories with their friends as they prepare for the next stage of their education.
As we head into our final week of term, I would like to thank all of our families for their continued support. We look forward to making the most of the remaining days together and celebrating the many achievements of our children before the summer break.
