Friday 15th May 2026

As we approach the final week of the Summer 1 term, I want to take a moment to reflect on what has been another busy and successful week here at Temple Meadow.

This week has centred around our Year 6 children, who have completed their SATs assessments. It has been an celebration of all that they have achieved across Key Stage 2. Every child arrived each day showing focus, determination and a readiness to do their very best and that is all we could ever ask for.

I would like to extend a huge thank you to our dedicated Year 6 team, who have supported and guided the children so brilliantly throughout the year. My thanks also go to all staff who worked together to ensure SATs breakfasts and testing arrangements ran smoothly, with children feeling encouraged and supported every step of the way.

At Temple Meadow, whilst we recognise the importance of SATs outcomes, we value our children first and foremost as individuals. We celebrate their unique talents, personalities and achievements and we are incredibly proud of the young people they are continuing to become.

We are delighted to share some lovely personal news. Miss Hodgetts has safely welcomed her beautiful baby boy into the world. With her permission, we are very pleased to introduce Arthur. I am sure you will all join us in wishing Miss Hodgetts a very happy and special maternity leave with her little one.

Looking ahead to next week, our Year 6 children who were unable to take part in Bikeability earlier in the year will now begin their sessions; an exciting opportunity for them to develop important life skills.

A reminder that next Friday is our Bring a Bottle Day. Children may come to school in their own clothes in exchange for a suitable bottle donation, which will be used as prizes for our Summer Festival tombola. Please note that any donations of alcohol must be brought to the School Office directly by an adult.

Please also note that, with the exception of Reception Multisports (Monday) and Year 5 & 6 Multisports (Wednesday), there will be no after school clubs next week.

With many exciting events coming up as we move into the summer term, I strongly encourage families to keep an eye on our school website calendar, where you will find all key dates and information.

Thank you, as always, for your continued support.

Stars Beyond School - our brand new Family Connect Feature!

This week, I shared a message with all families encouraging you to begin celebrating and sharing your children’s achievements beyond school. We truly enjoy seeing and hearing about the wonderful things your children are involved in and understanding what makes you so proud of them.

It’s been fantastic to already receive a number of responses to feature in this week’s Family Connect - thank you to everyone who has contributed so far.

Please do keep them coming in; we love celebrating these special moments with our school community!

Billy has been enjoying a wide range of achievements and experiences outside of school, showing real enthusiasm and dedication. He takes part in many activities, including dance, karate, where he has earned his Purple Belt and swimming, as he works towards completing Level 5.

He also attends weekly horse riding lessons, building both confidence and skill. More recently, Billy has developed a passion for professional wrestling, training twice a week and quickly progressing to sessions with adults. He loves spending time outdoors with his family, tackling challenging walks such as Pen y Fan and the Long Mynd with great determination.

A recent highlight was a trip to Las Vegas, where he explored incredible landmarks like the Grand Canyon and even attended WrestleMania, meeting professional wrestlers who inspired him to pursue his dream. Billy’s curiosity, resilience, excellent manners, and willingness to try new things make him a truly remarkable young person, and his family are incredibly proud of all he achieves.

We would also like to share that Dreyden recently achieved his Yellow Belt in MMA/Karate at Martial Arts Concepts after working really hard in training and completing his grading successfully.

He has shown dedication, discipline and perseverance while learning new skills and building his confidence. We are very proud of his achievement and commitment to his training.

We are also delighted to celebrate Jake in Year 2. Jake’s family are incredibly proud of him and for very good reason! In school, Jake was awarded Star of the Week, recognising the hard work, perseverance and determination he has shown throughout the year. This achievement is a wonderful reminder that when Jake keeps trying and doesn’t give up, he can achieve anything.

His success hasn’t stopped at the school gates either. At home, Jake has been working hard to learn how to ride his bike, showing the same resilience and commitment. His family shared how proud they are of him, not just for his achievements, but for the effort he puts in every day.

Well done, Jake! We are so proud of you both in school and beyond.

Finally, we would like to celebrate one of our parents, Sean Gill.

On 10th May, Sean took on an incredible challenge in aid of Prostate Cancer UK, playing 100 holes of golf in a single day. He described the experience as “brilliant – all 16 hours and around 500 swings of it!” A truly remarkable effort!

So far, Sean has raised an impressive £770, and together with his playing partner, they have reached a fantastic total of £1,760. Well done, our whole Temple Meadow community are proud of you.

Community Event – Aashiana Annual 5K Walkathon

We’d love to share details of a wonderful community event from one of our excellent Governing Body members.

The Aashiana Annual 5K Walkathon will be taking place on Saturday 7 June 2026 at Himley Park. This is a fun, inclusive family event for all ages – and even pets are welcome (on a lead and suitably muzzled).

All entry fees this year will be donated to Diabetes UK, supporting an important cause. In previous years, this event has raised significant funds for charities including the British Heart Foundation and Dementia UK – a fantastic achievement that we’re proud to help promote.

There are 100 places available, and a reduced entry rate has been offered specifically for our school community: • £3 per child
• £8 per adult

Children are encouraged to raise sponsorship, and sponsorship forms will be available upon request. Participants are also invited to wear red and blue, representing Diabetes UK.

The walk itself is a gentle two laps around Himley Park, with access to toilets, a woodland play area and planned breaks. Many families choose to stay afterwards with a picnic. All participants will receive complimentary bottled water, and certificates of completion will be presented by special guests at the end.

Thank you for supporting community events and charitable causes.
