It has been a slightly shorter week in school following the Bank Holiday on Monday and our closure to children yesterday for Polling Day. Although school was quieter, our staff made great use of the time, working hard to enhance our OPAL provision by painting benches and improving our outdoor spaces so that children can enjoy even better play experiences.

On Tuesday, our Year 4 children kicked off their exciting Rockstar Day as part of their Multiplication Tables Rock Challenge. Children came dressed as rock stars and fully embraced the theme as we launched this energetic and motivating challenge. This friendly competition will run over the next couple of weeks, encouraging children to practise their times tables regularly both in school and at home, building confidence and fluency ahead of the statutory Multiplication Tables Check in June.

On Wednesday, our Nursery children had a truly memorable experience when Angie from Animal Antics visited school. As part of their learning about animals, the children had the opportunity to meet a range of fascinating creatures and take part in a hands-on session. They showed great curiosity, bravery and respect while learning about different animals and their habitats. It was wonderful to see the children so engaged, asking thoughtful questions and developing their language through such an exciting real-life experience. A huge thank you to Angie for delivering such an engaging visit.

Today, we have celebrated Dare to Be Different Day, where children came to school in outfits that reflect their individuality and uniqueness. It has been fantastic to see so many children embracing this opportunity to express themselves and celebrate what makes them special, linking closely to our values around being proud to be who we are.
We are also delighted to share that we raised £300 towards our OPAL funding – thank you so much to our families for your continued support!

Looking ahead to next week, our Year 6 children will begin their SATs. We are incredibly proud of how hard they have worked and the positive attitudes they have shown throughout the year. We know they will approach the week with determination and resilience. Please do join us in wishing them the very best of luck as they take on this important milestone.
