Friday 6th March 2026

Dear Families,

Wow, what an incredible week we have had at Temple Meadow! A huge thank you to everyone who joined us for World Book Day. It always brings such a buzz and excitement across the school and it was wonderful to see children and staff celebrating a love of reading together.

We hope your child enjoyed the book they brought home too. A special thank you to Mr Curzon, our English Lead, for organising this year’s activities so brilliantly. Do have a look at our Facebook page where we have shared lots of photographs, including a fun quick fire quiz.

Thank you to all our Year 6 families who attended the SATs preparation workshop this week. We are incredibly proud of the progress our Year 6 children are making. They continue to show such dedication and determination. A huge well done and thank you to the Year 6 team for their ongoing hard work, passion and commitment. With only seven school weeks until SATs, please keep up the fantastic momentum.

We were delighted to welcome visitors from both the Maths Hub and English Hub this week. On Wednesday, Jack from the Maths Hub conducted a learning walk, meeting with Mr Malcolm (Maths Lead) and myself. He was extremely impressed with the quality of maths teaching across the school and praised how confidently children are tackling their White Rose booklets. Maths starts in our Early Years environment and feeds into everything the children do.

You can see some videos of our children in the environment on our Facebook Page next week.

Mr Malcolm also presented at Curriculum Governors this week and they were really pleased with the Maths journey we have been on. Sam from the English Hub was equally impressed, especially with the high-quality phonics delivery taking place daily. She has asked if we would be willing to host visits so other schools can observe our excellent Little Wandle sessions in action. A big well done to Miss Evans, our Phonics Lead, for her leadership and dedication.

A reminder that our Family Engagement Evening takes place next Wednesday. Bookings to see your child’s class teacher close at 6pm on Monday 9th March, so please ensure you have secured your appointment via the MCAS app

Please check the calendar dates below or via MCAS app to ensure you are aware of any upcoming off site visits or trips for your child’s year group next week.

We are also excited to begin our new Stretch Yoga and Meditation workshops next week. Our first session is for Year 3 on Wednesday morning and you can book your child’s place on the MCAS app.

Thank you, as always, for your continued support and partnership. Temple Meadow continues to thrive because of our fantastic children, dedicated staff and supportive families.
