Firstly, thank you to everyone who has noticed me hobbling around school this week and sent such kind wishes for a speedy recovery. I only wish I had a more exciting story to share, but unfortunately I simply sprained my ankle after landing awkwardly while playing netball last Saturday!
As many of you know, I really do love being active, so it has been challenging to slow down this week. With a bit more recovery time still ahead, it has reminded me how important it is for all of us to find healthy ways to relax and support our mental wellbeing. For me, that usually means staying active and enjoying quality time with my family.
Across the school, children have been celebrating Chinese New Year, exploring the traditions of the Lunar New Year and learning about the Chinese Zodiac. It has been wonderful to see this work developing cultural awareness and appreciation of diversity throughout our year groups.
A huge thank you also goes to our parent volunteers who supported the Year 6 trip to Safeside this week. The children had a fantastic time, and it was our first ever visit as a school. Please do take a moment to look at our Facebook page, where some of our Year 6 pupils have shared their reviews of the experience.

Following this, we were delighted to host our Nursery Stay and Play session. It was lovely to see so many families joining us and engaging with their children’s learning. Our Reception Stay and Play also enjoyed a fantastic turnout. Thank you to everyone who was able to attend and take part in these special sessions.

We also enjoyed a lovely Star of the Week assembly. Please remember to visit our school website each week to see the names of the Star of the Week from each class.

On the rare occasion that you have a concern about your child, please speak to your child’s class teacher first. We understand that busy schedules sometimes make email easier, but face-to-face or telephone conversations really do help us resolve issues more quickly and allow us to fully understand your concerns. If further support is needed, you may then be directed to the phase leader for your child’s year group, Miss Dale, Miss Evans, or Mr Smith who will be happy to assist.

Finally, a little note for next week’s Family Connect. We will be wishing a very happy retirement to Mrs Bull. You will also be able to enjoy a special interview with Mrs Bull and some of our children.
A reminder that there will be no after school clubs next week.
Thank you, as always, for your continued support.
