Kingswood Residential

We were all very excited to arrive at Kingswood just after lunch time today. After leaving the coach, we were taken on a tour of the site and were introduced to some of the activities that we will be taking part in this week.

Shortly after this, we were then taken straight to our first activity: zipwire, laser and low ropes. We really enjoyed these activities and challenged ourselves to complete them even if they were a bit scary at first.

We were then taken for our well-earned dinner. What a treat - chicken pie, vegetable pie or sausages awaited us with a range of potato and vegetables available. We even made the most of the salad and fruit bar.

This evening, we have all completed the biggest challenge of all - making our beds. However, we all helped each other to ensure our beds were made ready for our last activity of the day.

Tonight's campfire was really fun: singing silly songs and telling jokes whilst basking in the warmth of the fire.

Tonight was finished off with a yummy hot chocolate and then we all headed to our beds full of anticipation for what tomorrow will bring.

Please look at a few of our photos from today. Many more photos to come during the rest of the week.

Phew, what another busy day we've had here at Kingswood! We woke up after an extremely restful sleep this morning (our teachers were so impressed with us!)

For breakfast we were treated to a huge selection of cereals, fruits, yoghurts and best of all sausages, scrambled eggs, toast and beans. The rest of our morning involved a range of exciting activities. These included fencing, zip-wiring and aero-ball.

The morning flew by which meant it was time for the second meal of the day - lunch! Sausage rolls, pasta, salads and Cajun chicken were just some of the delicious foods that we wolfed down.

Luckily the weather here at Kingswood has been great, not too hot but not too cold either. Over the afternoon, we've been kept busy with so many exciting activities - we all had the chance to climb to the top of Jacob's ladder, ride quad bikes and completed obstacle courses which has meant we've shown off our team building skills.

This evening, we've enjoyed a disco after our American themed dinner of burgers, hot dogs and fries!

We hope you're all enjoying our Kingswood photos, we really are having an amazing time. We look forward to letting you know about our day tomorrow.

What an amazing day we have had today! We all managed to sleep right through the night and had to be woken by our teachers at 7am this morning. We were happy to be woken though as it meant that breakfast and a full day of activities was fast approaching.

For breakfast, we could choose from bacon or vegetarian sausage, eggs, hash browns, beans and a selection of cereals and fruit. We all had a big breakfast so that we could fuel ourselves for the day ahead.

This morning's activities consisted of an obstacle challenge, aeroball and low ropes. Our teachers are all really impressed with how well we are all working as a team and the motivation and encouragement we are giving to each other to succeed.

Lunch was next: pasta, baked potatoes and baguettes awaited us along with the usual selection of salad and fruit. Then our teachers told us it was our turn to visit the shop - we were all very excited for this.

During the afternoon, our activities were abseiling, caving and archery. These were brand new experiences for some of us, but we all really pushed ourselves to complete these challenges.

Towards the end of the afternoon activities, we could smell the amazing food coming from the kitchen. Luckily for us, it was now time for dinner. We piled lasagne onto our plates, along with garlic bread and salad. We then had ice cream for pudding. It was all so tasty.

As day turned to night, our evening activities began. Nightline was our first activity. We all had to work together as a team to navigate around an obstacle course - all while blindfolded! Next came scrapheap challenge, where we worked together as teams to create a design to keep objects safe when falling.

We have had another great day today and we cannot wait to see what tomorrow brings. We hope you are enjoying looking at our pictures. More tom come tomorrow.

After a busy day yesterday, our teachers had to wake us at 7am. We all had plenty of rest last night, which means we had lots of energy for our day today.

We were again treated to a mouth watering breakfast of sausages of vegetarian sausages, hash browns, eggs, beans and a selection of cereals and fruit. We were all so excited to see the sun shining today and were desperate to get outside as soon as possible.

During the morning, we took part in a range of different, new and memorable activities. These included shelter building and orienteering, which involved exploring the entire Kingswood site and practising our map reading skills.

After a busy morning, it was then time for lunch. Awaiting us, was jacket potatoes, pasties and a selection of pastas and salads. As today has been very warm, we have made sure that we have been drinking lots to keep us hydrated.

This afternoon, more exciting activities were waiting for us. These included fire lighting, drum beat and crate stack. All of these activities required us to work together as a team and communicate effectively to be successful.

We then needed to refuel ready for our evening activities. Our selection for dinner included, hunters chicken or pork, with mini roasties, vegetables and apple crumble for pudding. This was our last dinner of our Kingswood trip so we made sure we piled our plates high.

This evening was much more relaxed, with a range of team building games and a DVD night. Exhausted from a busy day, we then went to bed.

We will leave Kingswood tomorrow shortly after we have had lunch. School will text to inform you that we are on our way back. Please remember that you are able to collect your child shortly after our return.

See you all tomorrow!
