Kingswood Residential

Monday

We arrived at Kingswood at 2:30 this afternoon and were met by our group leader. We were taken on a tour of the site, becoming very excited about all of the activities that we could see. Next, we had to complete the hardest task of the week - making our beds. It was soon time for our first activity, orienteering. We worked together, in teams, to find points around the site while using our map reading skills.

Dinner was next, chicken pie, vegetable pie, sausage, mash and veg. We piled our plates high!

For our last activity today, our teachers dressed up as different characters for a mystery activity. We worked together to find clues, interviewing our teachers to solve the mystery.

Finally, we had a hot chocolate before going to bed for a well deserved rest - ready for a full day of activities tomorrow.

It has been raining quite a lot today, so many more pictures will be available tomorrow.

Tuesday

Phew! What a jam-packed, soggy start to Kingswood we've had! Everyone here has had a fantastic, first full day here, even the rain hasn't stopped us from enjoying all of the exciting activities.

All of our teachers were really impressed with us for having a great first night sleep. We're all settled into our dormitories and woke up to a delicious breakfast.

One of our morning activities involved exploring the caves beneath Kingswood (we got extremely muddy and wet). After this, we had a yummy lunch to re-fuel.

Following this, we've challenged ourselves this afternoon to climb to the top of Jacob's ladder, as well as abseiling down a 20m tower!

Tonight we've been taking part in a mini Olympics, the winning team earned extra hot chocolate! We've even had a special birthday celebration at Kingswood today, so we even tucked into a piece of chocolate cake with our evening drink.

Please take a look at today's photographs - we look forward to updating you on our adventures tomorrow!

Wednesday

We are still having a fantastic time here at Kingswood. Luckily for us, the rain has held off. We are less soggy and even had the sun come out this afternoon.

Once again our teachers were so proud of us for sleeping through the night! We woke up with lots of energy to enjoy yet another delicious breakfast - choices included fresh fruit, an English breakfast, toast, cereals and yoghurts.

Our morning activities have involved taking part in an obstacle challenge and testing our fire lighting skills with very damp twigs. We've shown excellent teamwork and great resilience.

After a busy morning, we tucked into a lunch which included baguettes, wraps, salads, jacket potatoes, soup and much more. We're all extremely well fed and enjoying the food here!

This afternoon we have been either taking part in shelter building, quad-biking and archery. We've just finished our evening meal - tonight was Italian night!

We're just on our way for some team work building games and a scrap heap challenge before our hot chocolate.

We hope you're not missing us too much - we're sure you'll look forward to seeing our photographs later on tonight.

Thursday

Hello everyone!

We've almost come to the end of our Kingswood adventure, we've had another fun-filled day.

Yet again, we all had a great night's sleep and woke up lively and refreshed for another day of exciting activities.

After another delicious breakfast, we made buggies from barrels, wood and ropes. It took a lot of team work and persistence to create our buggies that could carry a bucket of water! Following this, we completed lots of other team building games and zipped down the zipwire.

For lunch today, we had another yummy meal. A choice of pasties, pasta, salad and much more were on offer. This afternoon we built shelters, made bracelets using cordage and went on the low ropes.

We've just finished our final evening meal. Once again our bellies are full and we are ready for our evening activity of the campfire (including hot chocolate and marshmallows!)

Hopefully you're not missing us too much - we're looking forward to seeing you all tomorrow!
