We are delighted to announce that we have been awarded the Eco-schools Green Flag award. The Eco-Schools Green Flag is an internationally recognised award for excellence in environmental action and learning. The Eco committee pupils, Mrs Whyle and Mrs Shelley have worked incredibly hard on many initiatives. We would like to thank parents and carers in their support with donations of materials to recycle as well as our fundraising projects.
Why did we become an Eco-school?
Eco-Schools empower pupils, raise environmental awareness, improve the school environment and also create financial savings in school.
Making a difference to pupils’ lives
The Eco-Schools programme provides a unique opportunity that empowers pupils to lead change within their school and have a positive impact in their wider community.
Waste less and save money
As well as the pupil benefits, which have a hugely positive effect on the whole school community, individual schools also benefit from reducing their environmental impact. Eco-Schools consume less water and energy and produce less waste – in turn saving money that can be used elsewhere in the school.
The Eco committee worked hard to complete the bottle top curtain to begin our sensory garden. We will be continuing to work on the sensory garden in September.
