Senior Pastoral Support Keyworker Vacancy

 

Due to the promotion of the current post holder, we have a vacancy for a Senior Pastoral Support Keyworker. We are really proud of our Pastoral Support Team which is at the heart of what we do at Temple Meadow. In this role, you will be part of a dedicated and passionate team who really do make a difference to children and families lives every single day.

 

We are a two form entry Primary School, judged Good at our last Ofsted in January. Please do read our OFSTED report as it celebrates our vigilant and proactive culture regarding safeguarding. We are a highly effective school, meeting the complex needs of our community which includes high levels of deprivation and safeguarding in the widest sense.

 

This essential role encompasses: safeguarding, attendance, early intervention and behaviour support, outreach, family support, working with key agencies, leading and supporting Early Help; Child in Need and Child Protection (under DSL supervision). Our Senior Pastoral Support Keyworker leads the Pastoral Team on a day to day basis and in this role you will work seamlessly with the DSL (Deputy Head) and Headteacher in responding to need.

You need to be passionate about making a difference to children’s lives and addressing the many barriers that our families face. You will need to be highly professional, confidential, proactive, calm, diligent and empathetic. You will need to prioritise effectively due to ever changing needs as each day unfolds. You need to be emotionally intelligent as a team leader, able to build a team and uphold a professional culture in which the whole team thrives. The role can be very challenging therefore as the team leader you will support your colleagues and/or be the advocate with the DSL/Headteacher, regarding supervision needs around complex cases.

 

You must have current experience of working in a primary school in a similar role and therefore have a good understanding of the agencies available and how to refer and log appropriately. You will have experience of how to professionally and safely conduct home visits to support families for a range of reasons. You will be knowledgeable about supportive interventions linked to bereavement, bullying, anger management, nurture, social and emotional and mental health including self-esteem. You will have experience of managing a team or compelling attributes that will make leading the team a success.

 

It would be desirable to either have or be prepared to undertake lead professional, ECAF and Outcome Star training; additionally Non Violent Crisis Intervention Training and a valid First Aid certificate are highly desirable. You must have up to date Child Protection Level 1 training. Ideally you be aware of how to support children and families experiencing: domestic violence, CSE and other key safeguarding and prevention concerns. Our safeguarding systems are exemplary so you need an attention to detail and be able to triangulate and address minor concerns before they escalate. You will additionally provide support to teachers around behaviour strategies for key pupils, and support the smooth integration of new joiners to the school.

Class Teacher with TLR2a (PE & Dance) Vacancy

 

Come and join our teaching team and move into leadership with a TLR2a leading on PE and Dance, ready for September 2018. There is so much good and innovative practice happening at Temple Meadow, that you really need to visit us, to see if this post is the one for you. We really do want the right person, someone who can fit into our school seamlessly. This is such a ‘peach’ of a role – rarely advertised as a TLR responsibility – this just demonstrates how much we value PE and being active. I’m open to a KS1 or KS2 experienced teacher as clearly the right person will fit appropriately into the September teaching model.

You will need to have a minimum of two years’ experience as a qualified teacher and experience of leading a subject. You must have a passion for PE and active lives. You need a proven record of raising standards within a primary setting (not suitable for a secondary teacher). Ideally you will have experience of urban Local Authorities such as Sandwell and an understanding of the range of diverse needs that affect school life. We set great store by developing CPD opportunities through staff training; coaching and mentoring; and working with external providers.

Part of the interview process will involve a teaching task, as this is key to selecting an effective, caring professional that will fit into life at Temple Meadow. Additionally, you will do a presentation linked to your ideas for leading PE and Dance with a TLR2a responsibility.
