Early Years Teaching Vacancy (Fixed Term Maternity Cover)
Temple Meadow has a fabulous and engaging Early Years. We need someone special to join our Reception teaching team for February 2018 (covering a maternity vacancy). Our EYFS provision is excellent; it is so colourful, engaging, imaginative and inclusive. We achieve strong EYS outcomes (which is excellent given our on entry profile of deprivation and high need). We use Tapestry to assess and parents engage well with the learning journey.
We are a two form entry Primary School, judged Good at our last Ofsted. Our unique characteristics as a school are our commitment to Irresistible Learning, which puts a creative curriculum at the heart of learning. All around our lovely school you will see sumptuous and engaging displays. We have embedded Singapore Maths from Nursery to Year 6. We have a culture of collaborative learning and utilise drama and Talk for Writing to create lively age appropriate writing opportunities. If we can make learning fun then we do, and in Early Years our highly experienced AHT (who teaches in Reception) will ensure that your induction into our learning culture is supportive and immersive.
We are extremely proud of our safeguarding and day to day practice around school, keeping children safe; and working with families. You will really feel that what you do on a daily basis is highly positive, and makes a difference to children’s lives.
We are seeking, first and foremost, a committed and talented Early Years Teacher who is able to deliver consistently 'good' lessons to our pupils. You must have experience of the Early Years Curriculum.
We are really proud of our school; we offer a vibrant and stimulating learning environment. We really do have the most fantastic pupils with excellent behaviour and attitude to learning. As a staff team we are always looking at ways to support work life balance and we do some lovely things such as staff nominations of each other that are put into a prize draw with a treasured prize of time off term time! This is just a flavour of our innovative approach to every aspect of school life.
Ideally you will have experience of urban Local Authorities such as Sandwell and an understanding of the range of diverse needs that affect school life. You need to be fully up to speed with initiatives that have proven impact including enabling environments. We set great store by developing CPD opportunities through staff training; coaching and mentoring; and working with external providers. We are re-advertising this position as last time we had a lot of interest from teachers in permanent positions in their current school. This is a fixed term contract but as you well know school need often evolves and what starts as a fixed term contract could potentially lead to a permanent position.
The interview will involve a teaching task, as this is key to selecting an effective, caring professional that will fit into life at Temple Meadow helping our children to develop their full potential. As part of our short listing you need to have visited our school and met with myself the Headteacher – so please do contact the school office to arrange a visit.
Application packs are available from and returnable to the school office. Application packs can also be downloaded from the Local Authority website. All completed applications must be returned either by post or delivered directly to the school office. Interested applicants can contact the school on 01384 569021.
